About Our School

General Information

- There are more than 30 children of various ages studying in our school.
- The school operates on Saturdays where the classes are run between 9am and 3pm in the building of Aberdeen Grammar School on Skeen street.
- Each class lasts for 45 minutes.
- All classes are conducted by our professional teachers with experiences of teaching in Russia. The curriculum is based on conventional educational programmed accepted in Russia.

 

Main activities and groups

Nursery group 0-2 (presence of a parent is required). Children are involved in interactive play and games, learning songs and nursery rhymes.
Toddler group 2-4 (presence of a parent is required). Children are taught basic skills in counting, distinguishing colors, naming the objects through games. Great deal of singing songs and nursery rhymes.
Pre-school, years 5-6 (Russian and Music). Through structured classes the pupils are getting introduction into the Russian language. Initial steps in learning of alphabet, development of speech practice. During the music classes the students learn popular children’s songs.
Primary, years 6-7 (Russian, Music, Maths). Further development of Russian communication skills, improving other aspects of language, e.g. grammar, style and writing. Initial steps in learning arithmetic, counting and sums. Learning traditional Russian songs, development of singing practice.
Primary, years 7-9 (Russian, Russian Literature, Music, Maths, Drama). The students continue development of Russian, Maths and Drama with addition of new subjects such as literature and drama.

At the end of each term the students take part in the concert presented to parents demonstrating the skills and knowledge they gained through the classes.
